I've also used wildcards in the past and that works okay. You should be able to use shell commands to populate the file list.

Just, sometimes I'll do something else, and look back at my feed a few hours later and forget that I haven't refreshed the feed. And I totally support making sure the experience continues to be first-class for folks opting out of Javascript.
