After a few hours of usage, twtxt feels very in control, in the same way personnal websites do. I feel better writing for it than on other social medias, including Mastodon. The software isn’t using me this time, I’m using it. It’s everything I love about RSS, but as a small social network. No dependencies, accessible to everyone and powerful. Very cool!

alienmelon’s Electric Zine Maker is more than I anticipated. Something I was expecting to be a tool ended up being emotionaly crushing. Getting so much kindness from the tool, before absorbing so much darkness at once without the time to brace for it feels worse than weird. I recommand to try it, weither you want to make zines or not. It’s a very unique, exceptional, work and experience. Everything is in the details.

@prologic@twtxt.net (#qsjny5a) Hey, I had no intent to complain or express frustration. Just really feel excited about what you ppl have created around twtxt and would like to engage to make things better.

Recording the resistance in my process of ā€œtrying to figure out what you guys are talking aboutā€ / providing an outsider’s view (not like the ppl in conversations who know the context well) may do help in some ways, I guess. And it’s my turn to say sorry for my limited technical skills šŸ™ˆ.

Thanks for your clarification and I’ll take time to learn more about existing extensions.

Hi there! As a novice (digging from a blog site -> that uses ASS -> that mentions twtxt in its one repo issue) here, I’m a bit confused when using Yarn pod site & Goryon Android APP.

While scrolling twts on Goryon, I’ll 100 percent press conversation btn if one twt interests me, to know the context. However scrolling down, I probably see the same twt in another twt’s conversation. So that means the upper subject just don’t show up when I check the conversation of one twt involved?

Then I turn to Yarn pod site to get some clues. In the main timeline page replies are called Yarn, same as Conversation in Goryon, right? hopping in then I finally know there’s a Root behind this twt. One more click, better than not knowing in Goryon.

Now I have a vague feeling that conversation Forks like a tree. A reply with replies to it becomes a subject that owns #hash.

Is it possible to see the path to the starting root more easily? Maybe a btn to reveal/fold upper subjects, always on first page/screen so no need to click a lot.

(#ijtgw3a) @mckinley@twtxt.net I used this myself for ages (my primary machine was dual G5 until 2018), but this is all emulation - an i686 CPU is emulated in the QEMU to run i686 Windows. I’m running PowerPC version of Windows (only NT 3.5 and NT 4.0 were released for PowerPC as well as MIPS and DEC Alpha) on PowerPC workstation from 1995. It has a 67MHz PowerPC 603, 64 MB of RAM and 1GB HDD. Here is the original news from when it was released: https://techmonitor.ai/technology/bulls_low_end_powerpc_estrella_to_go_via_zenith

(#ijtgw3a) @movq@www.uninformativ.de Yes, this is bare metal - I don’t even think that it is possible to run NT on PowerPC in emulation or at least I didn’t see anyone running it. It requires special firmware that only Motorola provided, about half dozen machines were supported. I had to download the firmware from archive.org and flash it as my Bull Estrella didn’t have it, just the generic firmware for running AIX.
