(#yj4so4q) @fastidious Not really, this is a network that already includes more similar minded DNS projects resolving each others domains and I really believe that there needs to be an alternative for everything and find the idea of alternative domain solutions very interesting. 🤔

(#yj4so4q) @prologic@twtxt.net Yeah, there are still all kinds of problems trying to make these domains work, because most of the Internet just isn’t made to work with alternative domains. It doesn’t work with some browsers at all and https seems to break it too. Using only http breaks some of the fonts on the site, but that may at least make it easier to read, so it’s something I can live with.

(#u6n4yka) @prologic@twtxt.net It is new, the domain has been registered for about a month now and left the testing phase yesterday, when the records were updated to the correct site, so it might take some time to get to the other servers. But it already WorksForMe TM.
And yes, you should absolutely start your own, because I think that if you run it for some time you get the right to claim your own too level, so you could make “.yarn” a thing, or something else that you’d like.

I have a nice Thinkpad x200 with libreboot on it, I did a fresh install of the OS on it today, I got debian testing installed, also went for KDE desktop, even though I like LXQT more, or xfce.
Going to give this a good run. The machine is working very well, and super stable. I really like using it.

(#thttegq) Perhaps because I’m not limiting to just twtxt.net? I seeded with initial peers manually and from there keep spidering out to mentions. Also, there may still be dupes which differ only in nick and/or some alias URI that leads to the same place - need to design a de-dupping pass…

Sorry if I missed replying to you. Besides time constraints, my client is currentl stupid and does not accumulate messages - if you trimmed your timeline - I lost the trimmed messages forever. I might work on improving this over the winter vacation.

(#a5quq6q) @prologic@twtxt.net yeah see while I usually bag out Google at every opportunity I can give them credit for things like Go. Granted a lot of it was throwing money at the right people, such as Rob Pyke, but the point remains.

In a similar vein while I don’t know much about Flutter and Dart, those projects no doubt made mobile app development a fair bit easier and streamlined.
